For an informed choice

Everything about hair systems.

From materials to care, from comfort to price: we have gathered the common questions of people considering this solution in one place.

GeneralWhat is a hair system?

In its most practical and brief definition, a hair system is a piece that replaces hair strands or covers the area where hair has fallen out or is thinner.

GeneralWhat is the difference between a hair system and a wig?

A hair system is a matching new piece applied only to the problem area for people with hair loss caused by illness, partial or total hair loss, injury or treatment. It is fixed to the scalp with liquid adhesives or tapes. A wig is not glued; it is worn with clips or elastic bands.

Hair systems are made individually by taking head measurements. With your hair system you can swim, play sport, shower and blow-dry. With a wig, there is always a chance of it slipping.

GeneralWhat are the advantages and disadvantages of a hair system?

Advantages: Suitable for all confirmed cases of baldness (androgenetic, areata and cicatricial alopecia, telogen effluvium, trichotillomania, chemotherapy). Instant results; a lower price than many alternatives; a long-term solution; no restrictions on activities such as sport, pool, sea, bathing or sleeping; not surgical; you can start over if the result does not satisfy you; no contraindications (except material allergy; most products are hypoallergenic).

Disadvantages: It requires periodic maintenance. Some models that give a more natural result are more expensive.

GeneralWill it look artificial? Will the result really be good?

The hair systems used at our centre are of high quality and are fitted by specialists, so the result is extremely satisfying. You may see failed results online; there is no law preventing unqualified people from entering the sector. Making the right choice is up to you.

GeneralWhat sizes do hair systems come in?

All hair fitted at our centre is made to suit your head shape by taking your cranial measurements. Ready-made hair is widely used on the market; we do not use ready-made hair and always design to individual measurements.

GeneralIs the hair natural human hair or synthetic?

Our centre uses human hair. Human hair also comes in different qualities; we use hair of the best possible quality and of a thickness that matches the person's natural hair. Synthetic hair is very shiny, which makes it look artificial.

CareHow long does a hair system last?

The lifespan of a hair system depends on its quality; it can be longer or shorter depending on the design made for the person and the quality of care.

CareDo I have to remove my hair system every day?

No. Models attached with special adhesives are worn continuously in 15–20 day cycles. At the end of each cycle you come to our centre for maintenance; it takes no more than 1 hour. The hair system is removed, cleaned and fitted again.

CareWhat should I do to protect my hair system and extend its life?
  • Stick to the recommended wearing period and have maintenance done regularly.
  • Use a neutral shampoo free of sulphates and salt.
  • Don't apply conditioner to the hair roots.
  • Always wash it after the sea or the pool.
  • Comb with a soft brush and gentle movements; when washing, massage in one direction instead of rubbing.
  • Avoid excessive pulling.
CareCan a hair system be coloured or blow-dried?

Hair systems made from human hair are suitable for every kind of care and treatment. Everything done to normal hair can also be done to a hair system.

GeneralWon't my hair system look different from my own hair?

No. Because it is designed to match your measurements, hair colour and hair type, there is no such risk. Even any grey hairs you have are added to your hair system in the same density.

GeneralDo I need to shave my existing hair?

It depends on the model. With partial hair systems, the fitting area is usually shaved. With full cap hair systems, shaving is not necessary; they can be applied over existing hair.

CareDo hair systems cause irritation, wounds, fungus or allergies?

Not as long as the care rules are followed. Unsuitable products or overdue maintenance can cause problems. If there is an open wound, fungus or similar, a hair system must not be fitted under any circumstances.

PriceWhat does a hair system cost?

Pricing is worked out individually. The size of the area to be covered, the hair length and the base type determine the price; the exact price is given in writing after the free hair analysis.

PriceWill I pay a lot for routine maintenance?

Routine maintenance costs no more than the monthly hairdresser expenses of a person with natural hair.

PriceCan a hair system be paid in full or in instalments?

You can pay for a hair system in instalments by credit card. Ask our centre about current instalment options.

PriceAre maintenance services included in the price of a hair system?

The initial fitting and first care are usually included in the price. Regular professional maintenance is usually charged separately.

PriceAre prices set according to the exchange rate?

Because most materials and equipment are sourced from abroad, prices are affected by exchange rates and may be updated from time to time.

GeneralWhere can I buy a hair system?

Sampling your own hair, taking your measurements and producing a hair system made for you requires a professional centre. At ONNA HAIR your hair analysis is carried out in private rooms, with your privacy protected, and the hair system you need is clearly determined.
